Sometimes I look at my dog and feel amazed that I have such a beautiful creature sharing my life.

Certainly, he can be annoying, and I hardly need add, undisciplined in his behaviour, but I can't blame him for those things - they are my failings.

And weighed against that are the big, brown, soulful eyes, cute teddy bear face and his sweet, affectionate nature, all of which make me realise how lucky I am to have him.

I can imagine life without him - it would be a bit easier, certainly, not to be responsible for another creature's well-being, but greater freedom couldn't make up for the loneliness of a life not enriched by his presence.

You say it beautifully.

I recently had the chance to live for a time without Lady. The days after I moved to Canberra before she came over were the lonlyiest of my life.

I am gratefull to have such love in my life too :)
