I'm feeling curiously amused by the idea of swapping titles :)
However, terminology that doesn't have the inherent power imbalance you mention is definitely favourite. 'Partner' is a useful if rather pedestrian word; I am growing increasingly fond of 'lover', to be honest - although it has connotations of sexual intimacy, that's hardly inappropriate for us and it is also charmingly open-ended and gender-neutral.
