It's too fucking hot

Coming in at the top of the litany of reasons summer is my least-favourite season.

The captioning office at the ABC seems to be immune to the air conditioning in the rest of the building. It was so hot and stuffy today, we had the heater on to keep ourselves cool! On its lowest setting, admittedly, but that is still horribly wrong.

Next on the list are the flies and mosquitoes in plague proportions - don't get me started on that one - and moths the size of pteradactyls! I've only noticed this one since I've been working in the evenings. I'll be walking from the ABC to the train station and all of a sudden there'll be this gigantic moth hovering barely millimetres from my face! I don't like it, let me tell you!

Give me a break

Considering all the things I've been whingeing about lately, no-one would guess that I am actually quite happy with my life, if only for the reason that I am optimistic enough to expect that my problems will somehow be sorted out at some stage. After all, troubles are what keep life interesting, right? At least in a Chinese-curse kind of way.

For example, I know that summer will give way to autumn sooner or later - that solves that one.

And I'm hoping that it will be much easier for me to find a job this time around, given I have gained a great deal of experience this past year. And let's face it, we're not the first to be screwed over by globalisation - it's really just another case of letting principles fall by the wayside in order to bow to the almighty dollar. If a multinational company can provide a cheaper service, then sod the poor bods who might have their lives messed up by losing their jobs.

And I've decided that the reason so many men claim not to understand women is because they don't bother to delve. They just take everything at face value and don't exercise an iota of interest or curiosity, enough to actually do some research and find out what's going on in women's heads. This one should be easy to solve, in theory.

But as we know, theory and practice don't always mesh.
