Under a Cloud
May. 4th, 2005 01:21 pmWoke up with a sore throat this morning and the worst bout of hayfever I've had in a while. Sore throat has gone, but the hayfever is hanging around like a bad smell. I hope I don't feel like this tomorrow morning - it's not going to look good while I'm interviewing for temp work. Yes, at last someone has recognised my potential. I hope soon to be happily ensconced in paid employment - even if it is temporary, it sure beats being poor and feeling socially impotent.
Bosworth seems finally to have made up his mind to be inside, after doing his horizontal yo-yo impression for much of the last hour. He is currently lying at the top of the stairs, watching me out of the corner of his eye. The cat found his way outside this morning (cunning little sod has worked out how to open the back door when it isn't latched) and spent much time sitting in the tree over the aviary (which doesn't have any birds in it anymore - the canary got eaten by a rat a few months ago). After all that excitement, the cat is now curled up asleep in the beanbag.
I'd like to be curled up asleep right now, but I have stuff to do. Like ironing some clothes for tomorrow. It's been a long time since I've needed to iron.
