I had quite forgotten how much I enjoy market shopping. For under $30, I got me a huge box of fruit and veg, some lentils, bran and Belgian chocolate buttons(!), and a week's worth of dinners for Bossie. Station Street markets have a specialty dog-food stall full of lean mince and meaty bones. I'll definitely be going back. I also have three ripening pomegranates sitting in my fruit bowl, picked from the tree along our side fence.
Putting my groceries away and setting things to rights in my house was strangely fulfilling. Perhaps I was a housemaid in a former life. Tonight I will be cleaning out the fridge and the pantry, replacing old groceries with new, and sorting through pantry stuff inherited from
japester. Is it weird that I'm looking forward to this?
Oh, and I hate being poor. Today as we strolled through the markets, I saw a beautiful little box with a sleeping dragon sculpture on top of it, and little creeping vines up the sides. Apart from the cute little figurine
kae_dash gave me, this is the only sleeping dragon figure I have seen. So wanted it, but just couldn't justify spending the $65 on something I didn't actually need.
