Same old, same old

And yet it passed, virtually unnoticed. Forgotten, even.
They say it takes 21 days to form a habit, and three days to break it. Except I don't want to break it. In fact, I think I'm afraid of breaking it.
I was actually feeling pretty good about myself tonight, a bit like an all-conquering hero type. Until I was reminded of yet another of my many failings. And that told me everything I need to know. Nothing has changed, and it never will.
I think I am beginning to appreciate the dungeon-master's art. Sometimes you really do have to hurt people to make them talk.
